Following a consultation to ensure this treatment is suitable for you, the session begins with a gentle cleansing of the face, neck, and chest. Warm towels are then applied to relax the muscles and enhance the therapeutic effects of the massage. Using a high-quality facial oil, gentle massage techniques are employed, focusing on areas of tension with slow, gliding strokes to encourage parasympathetic nervous system activation. Gua Sha techniques will then be implemented on the chest, neck, and face, followed by a relaxing scalp massage to conclude the treatment.

While estheticians expertly address skin health through topical applications and surface treatments, The Remedy Facial focuses on the musculoskeletal, circulatory, and lymphatic systems of the face and neck using Swedish massage techniques and the use of manual therapy tools. This approach, which avoids the use of modalities like extractions, microneedling, or products with active skincare ingredients, ensures adherence to the RMT Scope of Practice as outlined by the college.

Yes. The Remedy Facial is an RMT treatment provided by a registered massage therapist which follows all bylaws by the College of Complimentary Healthcare Practitioners of BC (formerly CMTBC). Check with your provider to confirm coverage of RMT treatments.

No. Extractions are outside of an RMT's Scope of Practice. RMT's are not trained or qualified to perform this modality.
